The Hollywood Sign


The Hollywood Sign is a famous landmark in the Hollywood Hills area of Mount Lee in Los Angeles, California, spelling out the name of the area in 45 foot tall white letters. It was created as an advertisement in 1923. The sign makes frequent appearances in popular culture, particularly in establishing shots for films and television programs set in or around Hollywood.

The Statue of Liberty


The Statue of Liberty officially titled Liberty Enlightening the world is a monument commemorating the centennial of the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence given to the United Stated by the people of France to represent the friendship between the two countries established during the American Revolution. It represent a woman wearing a stola, a radiant crown and sandals, trampling a broken chain, carrying a torch in her raised right hand and a tabular ansata, where the date of the Declaration of Independence is inscribed, in her left arm.

Sports


Sports in the United States are an important part of the United States culture. However, the sporting culture of the U.S is different from that of many other countries. Compares to any other nation, Americans prefer a unique set of sports. For example, soccer, the most popular sport in the world, is not as popular in the U.S compared to the four most team sports- namely baseball, American football, basketball and ice hockey.

Dress code




Americans dress code is well known to whole world. Their dress is not that much different but they way they wear it contains some specialty. Mostly girl’s wear jeans with tops may be with the snicker shoes or with high heels. And guys do have various kinds of styles as different ways. Some can be hip-hop; some may be emo’s and so on. In the work place men’s are required to wear light-colored collared shirt, a matching necktie, and formal leather shoes. For the women they can wear jeans, casual pants, shirts, T-shirts, blouses, skirts, trousers, dresses, shorts, sweater sets, and blazers. For any casual party women can wear long dresses.

Black Friday



Black Friday is the Friday following Thanksgiving Day in the United States, traditionally the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. The term dates back to at least 1966, although its usage was primarily on the East coast. The term has become more common in other parts of the country since 200. Black Friday is not an official holiday, but as many workers have the day off as part of the Thanksgiving holiday, this increases the number of potential shoppers.

Easter Sunday

Halloween is an annual holiday celebrated on October 31. It has roots in the Celtic festival of Samhain and the Christian holy day of All Saints, but is today largely a secular celebration.

Weather





Unites states contains 50 different states. And each of them has different kinds of temperatures. As some of the states has less than 0F temperature. On the other hand some of the states have like 120F. Changes of the weather place an important role for changing people’s lifestyle.

Some facts


1. At most of the American airports, luggage carrier trolleys are not free of charge. You will have to pay a nominal charge of 25 cents to 1 dollar.
2. For crossing roads there will be buttons provided on the signal post, which have to be pressed in order to get the "Walk signal".
3. In public local transport buses, there is no ticket conductor. Also in some places you won't get any formal tickets for travelling, unless you want a day pass.You need to make a stop request to the driver, by pulling the bell string.
4. In local public bus, you need to drop the fare into a cash-box by the driver's side. (Don't give it to the driver). Dollar bills will go in the machine and coins into the drop box. Always carry the exact fare, since there is no provision to get back the change.** Remember: Whatever you put in the cash box, if extra, is gone. Maximum driver can do is, to give you that much worth tickets, but not the money.

5. Most of the Gas Stations (Petrol Pumps) are self serviced, i.e. you need to fill it up yourself. And all machines are equipped to pay by credit cards

And then middle school contains class 6 to class 8. From class 9-12 it is high school. But in high school that called din different names. Such as 9-refresher, 10- sophomore 11- Junior, 12- Senior. They have the graduation system after passing the senior year as getting diploma from high school and also middle school. Over there they use the term college as university level. It usually contains four years.
